Organised Awareness Program On New Standards For Fire Extinguishers By Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS) on 12th October, 2012 at Hilton Mumbai. Dr.H.S.Kaprwan presented New standards of on fire extinguishers: IS 15683:2006 Portable fire extinguishers - Performance and construction – Specification and IS 16018:2012,Wheeled fire extinguishers - Performance and construction – Specification and IS 2190:2010 (Fourth revision) Selection, Installation and Maintenance of First-Aid Fire Extinguishers Code of Practice revised based on fire rating in order to promote and further popularize BIS standards in the field of Fire Fighting by disseminating information about the same for their wider use and adoption and to get inputs / feedback from the manufacturers,installers & consumers.
Organised a Presentation and discussion on 8th August 2011 on New Maharashtra Fire Act in association with Maharashtra Fire Services Dept. with panel discussion with eminent Consultants, architects about the new fire act. Additional 59 licenses were issued to the industry.
Organized a technical seminar on 18th July 2011 at Hotel ITC Maratha on Fire Detection, Suppression and certification sponsored by UTC Fire And Security India Limited. Prominent speakers from Marioff, FM Approvals, Underwriters laboratories, Apollo Detection, Akzo Noble Coatings India Pvt Ltd and Dr. H.S.Kaprawan gave their presentation
Organized a presentation and license awarding ceremony on 12th May 2011 to the member & non members who has been issued the license by Maharashtra Fire Services Dept. 40 Licenses were issues during the programme .
Organized meetings with Maharashtra Fire Services dept, for the workshop on License to act as licensed agency.
Organized work shop on Metrology Act 2009.
Organized visits to International Exhibitions for Fire Protection Systems and Equipment such as INTERSCHUTZ in the years 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Organized several Seminars on Taxation issues such as on Excise, Sales Tax, Service Tax applicable to Fire Protection Industry.
Organized Fire India Exhibition on a regular basis (approx once in 2 years) which is the largest exhibition of Fire equipment in India bringing together not only Indian but a large contingent of foreign participants exhibiting the latest products & technologies. This is held simultaneously with a large Conference of delegates with several Technical subjects being presented, held in Association with Institute of Fire Engineers.
Organized work shop on Metrology Act 2009.
Have declared Awards for life time achievement and bravery to deserving leading personal in Fire services to recognized their contribution and efforts.
Signed Memorandum with other Industry Association from round the world such as Fire Industry Association of UK.
Made representations to the concerned Ministries to address Taxation and other issues related to the Industry.
Educating various members about the changes in the fire rules such as seminar on Maharashtra Fire ACT conducted by Director of Fire services, Maharashtra, National building code conducted in Association with Bureau of India Standards, etc.
Conducted several seminars on use of alternate gases, to reduce environmental impact of ozone depleting substances.
Contributed towards several social causes such as Gujarat Earthquake Relief Fund.
